Ljubljana attractions

The area of Ljubljana was first settled in ancient times by Romans and later the Slavs made this beatiful country to their home. The name of the city means 'the loved one'.

Ljubljanica river and The Triple bridge

Ljubljanica flows smoothly through the city and the houses nearby are the most picturesque parts of Ljubljana. In the very center the river is crossed by a strange but pleasant combination of three bridges, called Tromostovje or The Triple bridge. Constructed in 19th century to get full use of state subvention serve today as attraction for visitors.

St Nicholas Cathedral

Since many centuries this was place of worship. First a Romanesque church received it's today look in the begin of 18th century. Inside you can admire fresco in cupola.

Tivoli Park and Mansion

The Tivoli in Ljubljana is totally different from the one in Copenhagen. A oasis of tranquility and greenery in middle of city bustle is inviting for at least couple minutes of rest. The mansion hosts today International Graphic Arts Centre, with several sculptures strewned in the park.
